PLUS click to download forms>> Dear Parents, Straight
from our heart to yours! You are one of the main reasons for KENSRI School's
dynamism and improvement. Needless to say you and our relationship are an
envy of schools. We will
continue our journey to better understanding, cooperation and appreciation
only by shared respect, accountability and responsibility.
Parent's Understanding and Learning Schemes (PLUS ®) at the
beginning of each academic year is due to the tireless, uncompromising and
transparent system and process of the school.
We have constantly improved PLUS ® program by structuring the
system. We continue to make each tool more focused. The purpose of the diary is to make all possible attempts for better understanding between parents and teachers. These can only be built by the following: 1. Knowing the policies and organization of the school so that you are not making requests that can crack the system. 2. To help by strongly recommending your contribution to your child made in the dairy to be a “Daily Parent”. At
KENSRI School we strongly believe that all children are made equal.
We also believe that each is blessed with a special talent.
Their attitude and habits first and then environment both at home and
school help develop them to their potential.
When KENSRI School was only 3-4 years old, we took students sent away
from other schools. Parents of these students trusted us to turn them around
to mould them well. We worked with them in building their values and habits. They
performed well in the 10th Board examinations and are now doing well in
professional colleges. So, the longer a student is at KENSRI School their
values, habits and drive towards excellence will be part of their nature. Gurukula
was a traditional way for us Indians to learn the vast body of knowledge of
Vedas, epics, Gita, ayurvedic system, yoga, meditation, astronomy, astrology
and much more. Children were sent at an early age to be under the tutelage
of a guru. The guru was the teacher. There was mutual affection, trust,
commitment, dedication, discipline, humility and pride between the guru and
his shishya. A Gurukula system is no longer prevalent. After that it was the
joint families with grandparents who mostly inculcated right values, culture
and arts. Grandparents,
parents, uncles, aunts and cousins lived together and helped each other to
do the best as a family. Even these joint families are waning at a time when
students require greater self discipline due to innumerable distractions.
So, at KENSRI School we have developed with our hearts a vision for parents
to partner us for their child's development; systems for teachers to take
them under their wing; content and programs that make you complete as would
have been given at a Gurukula. It is for you the children to give their best
to develop Guru-shishya parampara – teacher-student relationship. How do
you help your children do these? Teach them to follow: 1. Mathru Devo Bhava; Pithru Devo Bhava, Acharya Devo Bhava and Athithi Devo Bhava (mother, father, teacher and guest are God in that order); 2. Inculcate honest, humble and sincere attitude in them. 3. Let them be responsive to deadlines with their teachers. 4. To have focused daily habits including waking up early, RAP, etc. to help achieve their goals (KENSRI School has taken their goals to heart to help achieve them). 5. Finally, good eating and sleeping habits for your children.
Let us try to recapture the teacher-student relationship of the past. Think of our children in gurukulas or our soldiers for a minute. They train, eat, sleep, and learn to work as a team all with one “Maksad” (an Urdu word that can best be translated to mean “life's goal”) - to their best without distraction and with our soldiers to protect us. Can you make the children soldiers of learning – academics, sports, art and leadership? To develop a KENSRI SAAL we need a daily parent be:
According to Gita, it is important to do your daily duty well and not to worry about success or failure. Make everyday your best. According to our culture parents are God on earth. Be fair and benevolent and loving. KENSRI School diary entitled “THE DAILY PARENT” is specially compiled to improve “Children's Habit of Incremental Learning for Development” (CHILD). Developing the habit of daily Review, Apply and Prepare for the next day is an important cornerstone of our program. The school's ideal is to make students develop Values; work Independently and meet their Potential. We want students to have a full fun day everyday with academics, sports, art and friendship. Short bursts of “Incremental learning” enable children to effectively absorb new information than compared to studying only for assessments. Assessment is a necessary tool for students to test themselves and for teachers to know how students have absorbed the concepts. KENSRI School's curriculum is the most extensive around. Sports, art, leadership, and life skills towards a path of developing the right values (CULTURE), personality (ESCAPE), globally competitive (GUES), learning skills (POWER), giving back (CLASS), Excellence Corporation (talent). This curriculum along with our process of field trips, fun trips, KENFEST, curriculum games and others channel energy towards positive dimensions. Please understand the reason for each (especially life skills) and be among the many students and parents that write to us their appreciation in becoming responsible, mature, confident to face life’s opportunities. KENSRI School discourages going to private tuitions not only because our system encourages approaching teachers (with prior appointment) to clarify concepts, but we feel tuitions make them less independent. We expect our students to learn, understand and practice each concept and manage their time to do well in sports, arts and leadership. The remedial process is built around making sure that all students are progressing nearly at the same pace. Appreciate KENSRI School for this principle rather than the often repeated habit of other schools to dismiss non performing students in order to preserve records and making classes homogenous. Our remedial is designed to improve motivation with “goal remedial” (improving the motivations of students by helping them set and achieve goals) “habit remedial” (RAP remedial conducted to ensure that the student completes the week's work.); “confidence remedial” (confidence to ask questions and speak up in class or outside) and finally “subject remedial”. We ask for parental tough love by cajoling and insisting rather than the indulgent love seen these days with cell phones, play stations, internet etc. KENSRI School helps a parent to develop a healthy rapport by interacting with their wards and this inturn helps to develop a multi-faceted successful adult. The more time you spend teaching daily habits today, the less time you will have to spend in reprimanding them in the future. Please follow our prescriptive process for each day. Use Saturdays for yoga, fitness, catching up with missed lessons, competitions, preparing for next week by reading a chapter ahead, project work, and leadership responsibilities. In the event the student has missed a school day, ensure that they call a classmate and complete the required work. Some of the benefits of being a Daily Student are: 1. Concepts read and practiced on the same day helps retention. 2. Allows time for sports, art, friends and family. 3. Reduces stress. 4. Motivates the child. 5. Gradual and incremental learning. 6. Parents can see what kind of follow-up needs to be done each day. 7. The students will be enthusiastic learners. 8. Parent-teacher-student relationship improves and become sustainable. 9. Happy student-happy home-happy school.
